#OnThisDay 1894 John Brosnan, from Kerry was awarded the Medal of Honor. As a 17 y/o sergeant in Corcoran’s Legion, Brosnan was pinned by enemy fire at the Battle of Petersburg 1864. Brosnan ran out to a wounded comrade & rescued him but had his arm shot off.
