John MacBride Executed in Killmainham Gaol 1916

#OnThisDay 1916 John MacBride was executed in Kilmainham Gaol. The Rising took him by surprise but he joined & fought in Jacob’s Factory. His role leading the pro-Boer Irish Transvaal Brigade during the Boer War sealed his fate. He asked not to be blindfolded.
