Irish Divisions “Wiped off the Map” in Germany’s Operation Michael 1918

#OnThisDay 1918 The German Army unleashed Operation Michael, their last roll of the dice to win #WW1. By the end of the Operation in early April, the 16th Irish & 36th Ulster Divisions had lost 7000 men each. An officer wrote “The division has ceased to exist”.
