#OnThisDay 1921 Kerry IRA ambushed a train carrying Auxiliaries at Ardfert station between Listowel and Tralee and killed Auxiliary Cadet Walter Falkiner MC (pic). The train driver was wounded in the ambush but still managed to get the train to Tralee.
