#OnThisDay 1877 Col John O’Mahony, from Limerick, died in New York. He was co-founder of the Fenian Brotherhood & Colonel in the NY ‘Fightin’ 69th-Irish Brigade. O’Mahoney did not approve of the Fenian invasion of Canada. He is buried in Glasnevin Cemetery.
