#OnThisDay 1922 Michael Kilroy, 350 IRA & an improvised armoured car (made from a boiler on a Crossley Tender chassis) named “Queen of the West” attack 100 Free State troops in Clifden. Kilroy defeated the FS troops, took prisoners but did not hold Clifden.
