Michael Scanlan’s Funeral Commandant Limerick IRA 1920

#OnThisDay 1920 The funeral procession of Michael Scanlan, Commandant 4th East Limerick IRA, was stopped by a British officer who removed the flag from his tricolour draped coffin. Scanlan had been shot while trying to escape arrest the previous day.
