#OnThisDay 1943 The US Navy commissioned USS “The Sullivans” in honour of the five Sullivan brothers who lost their lives when their ship USS Juneau was sunk by a Japanese sub in Guadalcanal in November 1942. The Sullivans were from Iowa.
