#OnThisDay 1798 Bartholomew Teeling, a United Irishman & the hero the Battle of Collooney was hanged for treason at Arbor Hill Prison in Dublin. From the gallows he said; ‘If to have striven to make my fellow-men love each other was guilt, then I am guilty’.
