#OnThisDay 1916 Tom Kettle, the poet & Home Rule politician, died at the Battle of Ginchy when he & the 16th Irish Division attacked the village. The Irishmen took the village but at great cost. Interestingly, Lt. Emmet Dalton was present & survived.
