Brigadier General Cuthbert Lucas was captured by the IRA, Cork 1920

#OnThisDay 1920 Brig General Cuthbert Lucas was captured by the IRA near Fermoy, Cork. He was held in captivity for four weeks in Clare where he played cards, drank whiskey (a bottle a day) & even saved the hay. He got on well with the IRA & was later released.
