#OnThisDay 1921 IRA ambushed an RIC patrol at Kilmeena, Mayo, killing one & wounding another. Two RIC trucks stopped before the ambush site & Black and Tans snuck up & attacked the IRA, killing five. The Mayo men got their payback a month later at Carrowkennedy
