Constable James O’Brien, First Casualty of Easter Rising 1916

#OnThisDay 1916 The first casualty of the Easter Rising is Constable James O’Brien (top). He was shot by Sean Connolly (bottom) after barring their entrance to Dublin Castle. Moving into City Hall, Connolly was killed by a sniper shortly after.
