#OnThisDay 1915 Lt. George Roupell, from Tipperary, was company commander when he was hit by enemy artillery. Wounded several times, Roupell stayed at his post, repelled an attack, returned to HQ & brought back reinforcements. For this he got the Victoria Cross.
