Michael Collins Charged in Longford & Imprisoned in Sligo Gaol 1918

#OnThisDay 1918 Michael Collins was charged for making a seditious speech in Longford &was detained in Sligo Gaol for three weeks. He called the trial a “farce” & “I do not enter into bail with blackguards &tyrants”. He later paid the £40 bail & went on the run.
