#OnThisDay 1872 Irish republican politician Mary MacSwiney was born in London. MacSwiney was educated in Cambridge, founded Cumann na mBan Cork branch, arrested after the Easter Rising while in class, opposed the Treaty & was Vice President of Cumann na mBan.
