#OnThisDay 1921 Cork IRA, led by Sean O’Hegarty, ambushed a patrol of 46 Auxiliaries at Coolavohig, Cork. They killed three Auxies including commander Major James Seafield Grant. After several hours &RIC reinforcements arriving, the IRA withdrew without losses.
