#OnThisDay 1861 Terence Bellew MacManus the Young Irelander leader died, an exile in San Francisco. During his trial after the 1848 Rebellion, MacManus explained his actions by saying “It was not because I loved England less, but because I loved Ireland more”.

I'm David, I'm from Ireland. I am an avid fan of history. I have my B.A. in History, my M.A. in Military History and Strategic Studies,a Post Qualification Diploma in History and I've been teaching History for five years now.
