Roger Casement’s Attempt to Recruit an Irish POWs 1915

#OnThisDay 1915 Sir Roger Casement spoke to Irish POW’s in Limburg, Germany. He was trying to recruit men for an Irish-Brigade to fight for Germany against the British. He was not well received. “All thought of enrolling the men, I fear, must be abandoned”.
