#OnThisDay 1917 SS Adela left Dublin for Liverpool carrying cattle & cargo when it was sunk by the German submarine U-100 killing 24 crew, 12 from Dublin. Only the captain, Michael Tyrell survived. Just hours before, U-100’s torpedoes missed RMS Leinster.
