#OnThisDay 1830 Brig Gen Patrick Jones was born in Westmeath & later moved to New York & became a lawyer. During the Civil War he joined the “37th Irish Rifles”, quickly rose through the ranks & took command of the 154th. Regarded as a very competent general.
