#OnThisDay 1880 Ned Kelly, the Irish outlaw & bushranger was hanged in Melbourne Gaol, despite a petition signed by 32,000 people asking for a reprieve. Kelly famously wore his suit of armour in his last shootout with the police before his arrest.
