#OnThisDay 1814 US Navy Captain Johnston Blakeley, from Seaford, Co. Down & his ship USS Wasp were sighted & never seen again. During the War of 1812, he took many enemy ships & had been given a mission to cause as much havoc to British shipping in Europe.
