#OnThisDay 1814 Mary O’Connell/Sister Anthony, AKA the ‘Angel of the Battlefield’ was born in Limerick. Sister Anthony invented battlefield triage during the American Civil War which saved countless lives during the conflict. Her methods are still used today.
