Major General Richard H. Jackson Born in Kinnegad 1830

#OnThisDay 1830 Richard Henry Jackson was born in Kinnegad, Westmeath. Jackson joined the US Army as a private in 1851 & was a Brigadier General by 1865. He was Chief of Artillery for the Army of the James X Corps at the Siege of Petersburg.He survived the war.
