#OnThisDay 1921 Patrick Casey was executed by the British Army in Cork Barracks. Casey, a 6 foot 2′ hurler who covered the withdrawal of his comrades in an ambush, was captured, tried & executed within 25 hours. He was shot before his sentence was made public.
