#OnThisDay 1820 William Howard Russell was born in Tallaght, Dublin. Russell was a journalist for @thetimes & one of the first modern war correspondents. He covered the Crimean, American-Civil, Franco-Prussian wars & more. He coined the phrase “Thin Red Line”.
