#OnThisDay 1855 At the Battle of Sebastopol, Sgt George Gardiner, from Warrenpoint, won the Victoria Cross for rallying scattered troops after a Russian attack & then retaking their old positions. Alexander Wright from Antrim, also received a VC that day. #Ireland #History
