#OnThisDay 1921 The No. 1 Cork Brigade, led by Sean O’Hegarty, ambushed a patrol of 70 Auxiliaries & RIC at Coolavohig, Cork. They killed three Auxies including commander Major Grant & though surrounded by Crown reinforcements, the IRA withdrew without losses.
