#OnThisDay 1921 Thirteen men of the IRA 3rd Cork Brigade ambushed a train at Upton train station. Intel said 13 British soldiers were on board but it was actually 50. A firefight ensued killing 3 IRA, 6 civilians & wounding 2 IRA, 10 Civilians & 5 Essex soldiers.
