#OnThisDay 1864 at the Battle of Mobile Bay, 14 Irish-born men were awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions in this naval battle. It was a major Union victory & for Abraham Lincoln’s re-election campaign. 20% of the Union Navy was Irish-born. #Ireland #History
