Bloody Sunday, Derry 1972

#OnThisDay 1972 Thirteen unarmed peaceful protestors were shot dead by soldiers of the British Army in Derry. Another will die a month later & there are many more wounded from rubber bullets including some who were hit by armoured vehicles. This is known as Bloody Sunday. Seven of the deceased were teenagers, six of whom were only 17. The British soldiers and the Widgery Report tried to put the blame on the protesters but the Saville Report proved that the Widgery Report was a whitewash and that several soldiers were guilty of unprovoked murder.
