#OnThisDay 1916 Sean Mac Diarmada, from Kiltyclogher, Leitrim was executed in Kilmainham Gaol for his role in the Easter Rising. Before his death he wrote “I feel happiness the like of which I have never experienced. I die that the Irish nation might live!”

I'm David, I'm from Ireland. I am an avid fan of history. I have my B.A. in History, my M.A. in Military History and Strategic Studies,a Post Qualification Diploma in History and I've been teaching History for five years now.
