#OnThisDay 1922 Six civilians were murdered by the RIC in Belfast after a constable was shot dead. Ex-sailor Joe Walsh’s head was smashed in with a sledgehammer & his 7 y/o son shot dead (pic). William Spallen (70) who’d buried his wife that day was shot dead.
