#OnThisDay 1921 Cork & Kerry IRA ambushed & killed Brig Gen H.R. Cumming at Clonbanin, Cork. Annie Barrett, a telephonist overheard Cummings’s movements on a phone call & shared the details. The IRA ambushed the five vehicle convoy & killed around 4-6 soldiers.
