#OnThisDay 1920 The IRA captured Carrigtwohill RIC barracks, Cork. This was the first GHQ sanctioned attack. The IRA blasted through the wall with gelignite & the sergeant & 6 constables surrendered. Arms & ammunition were taken. No casualties on either side.
