#OnThisDay 1899 The British lost the Battle of Colenso to the Boers. Once again, there were Irish units fighting on both sides. MacBride’s Irish Commandos fought against Royal Dublin Fusiliers, Connaught Rangers & other British units. Even Ghandi was there!!
