#OnThisDay 1580 Fiach MacHugh O’Byrne ‘The Firebrand’ & Viscount Baltinglas of the Pale, defeated an English army under viceroy Baron Grey de Wilton, at the Battle of Glenmalure, home of O’Byrnes’ mountain stronghold. English casualties ranged between 300-800.
