#OnThisDay 1922 The Free State Army launch an attack on Westport from the steam ship Minerva carrying 400 soldiers, an 18 pounder field gun &a Whippet tank. They freed 96 prisoners from a coastguard station but the town had already been abandoned by the AT-IRA.
