#OnThisDay 1923 Dennis “Dinny”Lacey, commander of the AT-IRA 2nd Southern Division was killed during an ambush in the Glen of Aherlow, Tipperary by some 1,000 Free State soldiers. According to a FS report, `Lacey was the toughest leader in any part of Ireland’. #Ireland #History
