#OnThisDay 1817 Confederate Brigadier General Walter P. Lane was born in Cork. Lane moved to Texas to fight in its independence from Mexico, then as a Texas Ranger in the Mexican-American War & then with the Third Texas Cavalry during the American Civil War.
