#OnThisDay 1916 Lt. William Symes Drury 8th Bn Royal Dublin Fusiliers, from Rathgar, died during an officer’s training exercise in France. He threw a grenade with a faulty fuse which exploded immediately, hitting him with shrapnel & killing him instantly. #Ireland #History #WW1
