#OnThisDay 1920 The first “Official” IRA attack on an RIC Barracks took place in Carrigtwohill, Cork. Local Volunteers & some from Cobh cut telephone wires, placed gelignite on the gable wall & blasted their way into the barracks. No casualties were inflicted.
