#OnThisDay 1832 Brigadier General Thomas Alfred Smyth was born in Ballyhooly, Cork. Smyth fought at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville & Gettysburg. He was shot in the mouth by a sniper and died on the last day of the American Civil War. Quite the unlucky record. #Ireland #History
