Attempted Derry Jail escape sees two wardens killed 1921

#OnThisDay 1921 Two prison wardens were poisoned & killed during an attempted escape from Derry Jail. The three men responsible were sentenced to hang on Feb 9th after the war ended & Michael Collins worked hard to have their lives spared. He was able to do so. Their sentence was commuted to 15 years.
