#OnThisDay 1879 Patrick Pearse was born in Dublin. A teacher, barrister, nationalist & revolutionary, Pearse helped organise the Easter Rising & was chosen as Commander-in-Chief & the President of the Irish Republic. He was the first leader executed in May 1916. #Ireland #History
