#onthisday 1919 Six IRA prisoners escape from Strangeways Prison in Manchester. The first two over the wall were MPs Piaras Béaslaí (Left) and Austin Stack(right). The escapees were aided by friendly Irish window cleaners who were “coincidentally” in the area with big ladders.
