#OnThisDay 1779 Dillon’s & Walsh’s regiments from the Irish Brigade of France aid their American counterparts in large scale attacks to lift the Siege of Savannah, Georgia during the American War of Independence. But despite heavy casualties on both sides, the Irish losing nearly 200 casualties, the British held the town.
