#OnThisDay 1678 Peter Graf Von Lacy was born in Limerick. Lacy’s career lasted 50 years having fought with the Jacobites in Ireland, was one of the original Wild Geese who left for Europe. He then became one of the most successful Imperial Russian commanders, having been present at a total of 31 campaigns, 18 battles, and 18 sieges.
