#OnThisDay 1814 Major General Robert Ross from Rostrevor, Co. Down, the man who burned the White House & US Capitol Building during the earlier stages War of 1812, was shot dead in battle outside of Baltimore. Legend has it, the fatal shot was by one of two teenage snipers. #Ireland #History
